3D Animation Safety Videos
Project - Marine pilot boarding safety animations
Creating a 3D animation safety videos has never been more attainable than it is today. And with 3D it can be done from anywhere in the world.
Colourberry was approached by UK company Fathom Safety to create 38 minutes of safety training animations for marine pilots as an online course.
The purpose of this project was the creation of safety training videos for fathom safety.
Fathom safety our group of marine pilots that aim to increase safety and awareness within the merchant shipping industry through video production and animation.
Fathom safety got in touch with Colourberry because of our past experience in marine 3D animation for the shipping industry having modelled and visualised over 140 3D vessels in the past 16 years.
We started the project creating the 3D models for the characters that were going to be in the videos being the pilot itself and the crew members on deck and the bridge. From there we built the deck surface area and the ladder. The latter being the most complex part of the whole project deceptively simple but it needed to be able to be rolled so it can be stowed on deck or put onto a mechanical winch to be able to be raised to different heights and attached in different ways.
The project involved a lot of technical regulations with text on screen and animation timed to the voiceover.
We use blender as our 3D software of choice having used so many 3D programmes in the past like Maya for 10 years, 3D studio Max almost as long, Lightwave right back in the beginning and just before Blender we were using Cinema 4D for a few years.
All video editing and colour grading was done in Davinci Resolve.
All of Colourberry’s video productions and animations are made with the highest attention to detail and quality. We do our best to ensure our clients are with us every step of the way during projects.
With every company video production we produce we recommend client testimonial videos also because they are so powerful in communicating how good your product or service is.
Sing out if you have any questions, always pleased to chat and help any way we can even if its just advice for cameras etc 🙂
